What are the differences between NACM and ASTM standards for G70 chains?

The difference between NACM and ASTM standards for G70 chains lies in their respective testing methods and performance requirements.

NACM (National Association of Chain Manufacturers) standards focus on the manufacturing requirements for chains, including specifications for materials, dimensions, and markings. NACM G70 chains are required to meet certain minimum tensile strength and elongation requirements, but the testing methods used to measure these properties are not as rigorous as those used in ASTM standards.

ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards, on the other hand, provide more detailed testing requirements for chains, including tests for fatigue, corrosion, and environmental resistance. ASTM G70 chains must also meet specific minimum tensile strength and elongation requirements, but the testing methods used to measure these properties are more rigorous and standardized than those used in NACM standards.

In summary, while both NACM and ASTM standards provide guidelines for the manufacture of G70 chains, ASTM standards are more comprehensive in terms of testing methods and performance requirements.
